"Echo-Klassik" Award

... who teaches at Kassel Academy of Music , was born in 1956 and studied under Gerhard Vogt. He continued his studies at music academies in Frankfurt, Würzburg and Basel and was a student of the well-known German guitarist, Siegfried Behrend.
After winning numerous national and international competitions e.g. the "Deutschen Musikwettbewerb" (the German Music Competition), or the "International Villa-Lobos Competition" in Milan, it was not long before he embarked on his international concert career.

In 1997 he was “instrumentalist of the year” an won the
“ECHO-KLASSIK” Award and in 1998 his CD “Decameron negro” got the French CD-prize “DIAPASON D`OR.
In the past few years, concerts in Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, France, England, Denmark, Hungary, Spain, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, The Union of Arab Emirates, Laos, Thailand, Brunei, Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Russia, Canada and America have established his international reputation.
Composers from all parts of the world have dedicated new works to his instrument. In April 1995, he played with phenomenal success e.g. in Danzig, the first performance of the "Primer Concerto para Guitarra y Orquesta", which was written for him by the Mexican composer, Eduardo Angulo.
As a solo guitarist and also with orchestra and other chamber music ensembles he performs in Europe, Korea, Japan, Canada and the USA.
